Art is everywhere you look - whether it is a sunset, a landscape or a centuries-old building. Even the shadows of people, plants and animals create interesting shapes to contemplate.
I believe the best camera is the one that you have with you and for me, that means my iPhone. I take it everywhere and will sometimes snap a thousand shots in a day, in pursuit of that perfect photo - or at least a really spectacular one.
As I look through my tiny window to the world, I take care to select my subject and frame it in harmony with the other elements around it...be that sand, sun, water or even clouds.
And while the sentiment that 'a picture is worth a thousand words' is not a new one, my global pursuit is. I am traveling the world and using my photographs to educate others about the history, geography and economics of the places that I visit.

As it turns out, I've been an artist all of my life, but it wasn't until recently that I started to frame myself in these terms.
As a young Canadian, I was a competitive figure skater...a very artistic pursuit in fact. As a young adult, I created a small craft business making pinecone wreaths among other things. And then I got serious, earning Degrees and Diplomas in education. I spent the past 30+ years building a successful corporate training company and while it may not be obvious, the art of course design is truly...an art.
It was during this time that I made the transition to Digital Artist...the world of eLearning stretched out before me as an exciting new highway to travel and so I did. My team and I became internationally renowned for our work in the online learning arena - something that required me to combine my training designer skills with that of an IT professional and a graphic artist.
And now that I have retired, I am taking the time to pursue my interests in digital photography and contribute to improving the world for persons with disabilities at the same time.
